Hello,
I am visiting Rochester from San Francisco from July 18th through October. It would be great to find some like minded folks to hang out with during my stay.
Questions:
1.Where do they play good reggae in the city?
2.Places to shop for organic foods?
3.Any interesting outdoors festivals in the upstate area?
4.Recommendations for a yoga studio in Rochester?
Thanks for reading!

Re: Visiting Rochester from San Francisco!
Fri, July 18, 2008 - 7:10 AMFor general-purpose information about neat things going on (at least to me), there's my website at JayceLand.com . More specifically:
1. Reggae ... not so much of a specific place. Dinosaur Barbeque, Water Street Music Hall, and Dub Land Underground both tend to highlight reggae and dub more frequently than other clubs I'm familiar with. Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad is a popular band that plays out pretty often. Check Freetime ( freetime.com ) under their Reggae listings.
2. Organic foods ... Abundance Cooperative Market and Lori's Natural Foods both sell (almost?) exclusively organic products. Abundance is just south of the Center City and Lori's is in Henrietta, about 5 miles south. Local grocery chain Wegmans also has a substantial organic section.
3. Keep your eyes peeled. Summer is festival season as the rest of the year isn't so amenable. rocwiki.org/Chronologica..._of_Festivals is a pretty complete list. Heck, rocwiki.org/ in general is a good resource too.
4. Yoga ... hmm ... I don't know of one offhand but Abundance Coop and Lori's often have advertisements for such. RocWiki is another option.
Fuck you, I love you,
